Salba - a traditional necklace made of coins
We travel to Ukraine ... because it is so diverse and colorful. Today we have Salba with antique coins of 1923.
It looks like a cloth bib on which coins were sewn. Sometimes the number of their ranks exceeded twelve.
Velvet or canvas was used as fabric. Traditionally, salba (coins) were given to a girl by her godfather when she was one year old. Over time, they accumulated. Coins were sewn differently - of different times and countries and mixed. This decoration is also part of the costume of the Crimean Tatars, Moldavian, Bulgarian and Turkish people. In Ukraine it was distributed in Bukovyna.
